Bugzilla not a very good place for discussions, please come on the dev lists!
Please reopen this bug when you have a patch to attach.

Having said that, this is certainly an important (and of requested) piece of
functionality. The first step would be to create an AutoFilterRecord class (in
the o.a.p.hssf.record package) and then provide access to that thru the high
level API. In this case, the best place might be in the HSSFCell class...
usually the file format semantics will will themselves suggest an api structure)
So basically, the Recrod is required, then everything is a wrapper/delegator
around that.

Once again, this is important, lets discuss on the dev lists.
